Transportation, Travel
Situated right off the side of the newly renovated I17, traveling further into the city, or up to the oasis mountains of Northern Arizona, is simply 1 freeway away.
Entertainment, Shopping, Dining
Downtown Phoenix has the sports arena covered but the Biltmore Fashion Park is the place to be for shopping. At the Biltmore Fashion Park, you can find all the trendy designs from Saks Fifth Avenue to Macy’s. After a hard day of shopping, you can refill with a fine dining experience at restaurants like Stingray Sushi, The Capital Grille or Ruth Chris Steak House. Besides the Biltmore Fashion Park, Phoenix and the surrounding metro cities provide plenty of shopping and dining options.
The Phoenix Zoo sprawls over 125 acres with 4 uniquely different trails called Africa, Tropics, Arizona and Children’s. There are 1200 animals on exhibit ranging from mammals, fish, invertebrates, birds and reptiles. Valley residents enjoy the annual ZooLights Festival which runs from November 24th through January 9th each year.
Also located in Phoenix is the Desert Botanical Garden. For more than 70 years, the Desert Botanical Garden has been teaching and inspiring visitors from the local community and around the world with research, exhibits designed to help us understand, protect and preserve the desert’s natural beauty. The Garden features 145 acres, 65 acres under cultivation, 50,000+ plant displays all showcased in beautiful outdoor exhibits.

Scattered throughout the city of Phoenix are literally hundreds of public parks and recreation facilities with large grass open space, baseball fields, basketball courts, covered ramadas and outdoor cooking.
Hillcrest is not far from the famed Lake Pleasant, perfect for a family day trip, some camping or a round of fishing.
Education
The city of Phoenix has 325 public schools in 30 districts with more than 200 charter and private schools. Brophy College Preparatory is the only Jesuit High School in Arizona and has been developing young men since 1928. Next door to Brophy is its sister high school for girls, Xavier College Preparatory, which was founded in 1943 by the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Phoenix is has plenty to offer the academic scholar with educational choices like Arizona State University and Maricopa Community Colleges, like Paradise Valley and Phoenix Community College. Other colleges located in Phoenix include Grand Canyon University, Devry University Phoenix Campus, University of Phoenix and Gateway Community College.
